I have known Tami for a number of years and watched her from afar work with children and families. I followed her posts on Facebook and watched her flourish in her new adventure. Truly happy that she loved the work she was doing. It was evident she was making a difference.  Fast forward a few years post-pandemic, and I started watching her with a new light. I have a son who was diagnosed with ADHD.  After the diagnosis, we began seeking professional advice and services to help him skill-build. We tried “Traditional OT,” and it didn’t meet his needs. The environment with other children was overwhelming and overstimulating. We didn’t see the skill-building we were hoping for. During his evaluation, there was mention of his resting jaw position and it should be evaluated. Evaluation showed he had tendencies toward sleep apnea he was a mouth breather. The recommendation was to remove his tonsils and adenoids. This helped his sleep quality tremendously, but we needed an environment to help him with regulation, deep breathing, and building skills. I reached out to Tami and said Can you help us, help him. The answer was YES! He has been working with Tami for about 4 months, and we have seen tremendous improvement in his ability to breathe deeper during times of stress, seek out tools on his own to assist with regulation, and we have tools in our toolbox to help him be successful. Tami is passionate about the work she does with children and families and truly wants each child to be the best version of themselves. She readily shares her knowledge and has a passion for working to change the educational environment on a systemic level. Her knowledge drives her to make this world a better place. Not every child learns the same way. Criss-cross applesauce hands in your lap may not be the best way for a child to learn. Giving educators the tools to navigate different learning styles is a passion of hers. She has assisted us in providing tools to his teacher to help him be successful in the classroom. We have seen the difference working with Tami has made for our son. These tools for regulation are a gift to him for a lifetime. We look forward to continuing to work with Tami. She is truly a difference maker.

I enrolled my grandson in Tami’s Move Into Calm program to help him deal with big feelings and learn to regulate his emotions. Through play, Tami taught him how breathing and moving while having fun affected how his body felt.

What I didn’t expect from the program were the ways I learned to help not only my grandson but myself deal with difficult feelings and situations. Tami’s program teaches children and their parents or caregivers skills for life.

I am the Program Director for a non-profit that works with young women who age out of the foster care system. We created a personal development program for our participants that teaches them life skills they desperately need to transition into a purposeful and stable life. Tami taught a series on nervous system education and awareness, and another one on attachment. She was so good with our young women! We can't wait to have her back in the fall! In addition, she has been working privately with one of our young women on parenting as it relates to the nervous system. Our young woman has been working with her for a few weeks, and yesterday said, "Working with Tami, I have noticed I am not the parent I was. I feel so good about the way I am parenting now. She taught me how to do some movements that help me stay calm, and I've been doing them, and I can't believe the difference it's made. I am learning, and I am not the same person I was when I started."

Thank you, thank you, thank you, Tami!!!
